Wild Your Immune System & Hormones

Your immune system plays a vital role in your health

It is constantly surveying the body looking for foreign invasion and threats to our health. When it works well it responds quickly to  neutralise threats and then returns to its resting state.

A healthy 'Wild' immune system  fights infections and also new cancers which are constantly developing within us.

A poorly functioning immune system can become 'blind' to threats and not respond to invading pathogens or developing abnormal cell proliferation leading to recurrent infections and cancer progression.

Immune systems can also dysfunction by becoming hypersensitized to harmless substances or even to our own bodies. This can cause allergies and autoimmune diseases such as Rheumatoid Arthritis,  Lupus and Diabetes.

Our hormonal system is complex and affects all aspects of our bodies.

From our thyroid function to our adrenals and cortisone function to our sex hormones and insulin they have a profound effect our ability to function.

A 'Wild' healthy hormonal system is one which is constantly rebalancing and fine tuning itself with delicate feedback systems and sensors. These can easily become out of balance when we are placed under chronic stress, have high levels of exposure to environmental or ingested toxins, or in the presence of nutritional deficiencies.

Gut bacteria & hormones

Studies have shown that different gut bacterial species thrive with different hormonal shifts in people. For example pre and post menopausal states and during the menstrual cycle. This may account for slightly different bacterial strains favouring men or women. Men with lower testosterone levels were found to have statistically different gut microbiota with more dysbiosis ( bacteria associated with worse disease biomarkers).
